# GPSY

Following are some popular questions about GPSY. For a more detailed run down of this topic, please visit the [official documentation](https://docs.gypsytoken.org/tokenomics/tokens/gpsy) here.

## What is GPSY?

GPSY is a crypto-currency backed by real-estate. Purchasing GPSY lets an investor gain direct exposure to fractionalized investment into a global network of high-quality homes. GPSY appreciation is tied to the net asset value (NAV) as well as the yield generated from such assets in the form of rent.

## Is there is a holding period for GPSY?

Yes. The minimum holding period for GPSY is **18 months,** although it is not uncommon for investors to stake for much longer than that. This means that your funds are locked in to the protocol which allows for it's investment into yield bearing real-estate instruments.

## Where does my money go?

When you purchase GPSY tokens, we use that money to primarily buy, upgrade, and maintain yield bearing real-assets at a global scale. You money is directly exposed to real estate market.

## How do I sell GPSY?

At this point, you can only sell your tokens at our official website, [www.gypsytoken.org](http://www.gypsytoken.org). Please be wary of other sites that might allow you to buy or sell these coins since we do not partner with third party sites.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.gypsytoken.org/faq/gpsy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
