# Burning

Burning is only done when real estate leaves the Gypsy protocol. This will happen in the event of an individual buying a home with GPSY and requesting the ownership transfer.\

This will burn tokens based on the following formula.

GypsyBurned=\frac{HomePriceInUSDG($)}{GypsyBackingPrice($))}
$$
